K3 @ 5W, Sewper Armadillo 40/80 trap dipole, 160 inverted-L.
Weird condx tonight, first time I've had more Q's on 80 than 40. Signals were outstanding on 80M including W1IS at 250mW and well above the noise. Tried to move K4BAI from 80 up to 40, but no prop between us. Only signal heard on 40 in the last half hour was a very loud AF4LQ. K4BAI suggested we try 160 which we did successfully, first QSO on top band for me in a RFTB.
K4BAI, John T. Laney III, 5W fpqso=20 fpdxqso=0 nonfpqso=9 spc=20 total=1380
FT1000MP, 5W, inverted vee and 88' center fed zepp antennas. 40M had no FP signals and no other QRPers heard in first few minutes. Tried QSYs back to 40 with KO7X and N4BP unsuccessfully. So, 80M was the primary band. Worked west to TX and WY and north to ME. Signals were very weak and under my noise at the start, but about 0240 UCT band conditions changed and the weak guys I had already worke suddenly became strong. Had a QSO on 160 with N4BP which was my first RFTB top band QSO. Thanks for all the QSOs and hope for more next month. 73/72, John, K4BAI.
K3NCO, Marc, 5W fpqso=12 fpdxqso=0 nonfpqso=13 spc=19 total=931
40 was blotto! Ended up spending all my time on 80 with all of its QRN. Surprized that actually had more non-FP QSOs than with the piggies. Thanks for all the QSOs and OO! Had to explain RFTB to a few passers by.

Was only abel to QSO on 80M.. slow but fun. tried 40 but zip. I need better antennas. TNX to all who took the time to give me a contact. 73 BCNU de Dallas

80m. was the band to be on for this bacon round-up. Most grunts & squeels worked here in the WNY pig pen were on 80m. Rig: IC-7000 at 5w. into an all band dipole up 25 ft. using a straight key. OO & 72 to all piggies.
WB5BKL, Nick, 5w fpqso=12 fpdxqso=0 nonfpqso=7 spc=14 total=602
K3/10 and 40M ED-Zepp. Gave up on 40M right away. I have lots of local S9 QRM here - from electronics in the neighborhood, I guess. Thanks to all for sticking with me. Had fun.
K0ZK, Arnold Olean, 5 fpqso=12 fpdxqso=0 nonfpqso=3 spc=13 total=507
1.25 hours on 80 metres. Elecraft K3 to an endfed wire up 25 feet in Kennebunkport, Maine. Fun contest working good friends.

Good to hear folks on. A few easy QSOs and several tough ones. 40 did not last long. Once 80 got going, it was pretty good. See you all next month.
W9NX, Kent, 5w fpqso=11 fpdxqso=0 nonfpqso=3 spc=13 total=468
80 meters was actually not to bad here in southern IL this evening. Using a K3 and much abused Butternut.
W1FMR, JIM FITTON, 5W fpqso=9 fpdxqso=0 nonfpqso=5 spc=11 total=352
Great fun ! Struggled with QRN and nervous typing the N1MM Logger but the Winkey USB keyer ran flawlessly. Loud snow static crashed for half of the sprint and I hoped the PC would not crash for the other half.
WA8REI, Ken Louks, 5 w fpqso=8 fpdxqso=0 nonfpqso=3 spc=11 total=297
Oink-oink fine flyin' swine, big pigs, pignacious oinkers, and runt piggies. Only hrd/wkd N4BP on 40! 80's ether was full of pigs. Many stns hrd and not worked, such as K0EFD, W2SH, W3HZZ, K0NWT, KG4FXG, N0EAX Every QSO was a SPC mult! Rare as a pig tail with no curl in it, or no pig manure on it, oink-oink! Piggy riggy: FT-2000; pigtennas: 40 = vert; 80= dipole. 80 had popcorn QRN. First Bacon run in years. I hope to be oink-oinkin' 'round the pen more often, tho. 72, suieeee, o-o, Ken

I enjoyed the RFTB tonight. Sigs were low in the beginning but picked up during the event.

a great way to spend a rainy evening; snagged k4iwl & n4bp plus 1 non-piggy on 40M & then went to 80M to pick up 6 more pigs(k4bai,k3nco,k0zk,wa8rei,n0eax,ka2kgp) & 3 others.
ic703+ at 2w into g5rv.
N0EAX, Rich, 5W fpqso=7 fpdxqso=0 nonfpqso=3 spc=9 total=216
Enjoyed the event! I spent my time on 80 meters with 5W from an ICOM IC-706 and 80 meter inverted vee. Conditions seemed good in MO. Thanks to all who called CQ FP and pulled my reply out amongst all of the other piggies. 72, Rich

OUCH! This piggy crashed at 03:15Z in my trusty Elecraft K2. Couldn't take the pounding any more. 80M seems the only band open. I did get K7TQ on 40M. K4BAI was sounding pretty good as usual and some others but most was just barely over the noise and some I just couldn't pull out. I am anxious to see how others do. Good Luck!

Running Kenwood TS-570 and attic dipole. I will put my Elecraft or OHR in the next contest. I was the lost piggy but now I know my number again - #88.
KO7X, Alan Brubaker, 5 Watts fpqso=3 fpdxqso=0 nonfpqso=5 spc=7 total=98
First RFTB for me. Bob, N4BP, had a big signal here on 40M. Never heard John, K4BAI on 40 though. Heard no other FPs on 40. Quite a few on 80. I retired early so this was one of my token efforts. 73 from Wyoming.

Did not start until 0330 UTC. Should have started earlier. 20 meters gone by then. 40 meters NG here in Colorado. 80 meters good, but not many calling CQ FP. Right after the sprint ended I snagged Slovenia, but had to go up to 57 watts to be heard. Lots of fun, and thanks to the organizers. K3 @ 5w to doublet at 34 feet. K7TQ vy loud here at the end. Pete, NO2D.

band sounded good here in mn
n9bt, Bill Thompson, 2 W fpqso=2 fpdxqso=0 nonfpqso=4 spc=5 total=50
Only heard signals on 80 Meters, the higher bands were dead. I don't have a QRP rig for 160M.
VE3MO, Jim, 5w fpqso=3 fpdxqso=0 nonfpqso=1 spc=4 total=40
Thanks to all who called me and sorry to those I couldn't hear. I look forward to this sprint every month but last night I was plagued with S9+ QRN on 80m and some really fast QSB. Nothing heard on 40m. On 80m some signals were there and gone before I could obtain any or all of their info. I started out using a K2 and changed over to my Sierra with a windom antenna up 30 feet. Maybe I'll have better luck next month.

What happened to the bands ? k0zk-k3nco-k4iwl-n4bp- is all so far.

Only 80 meter in Ga for my first bacon run - fun!
Thanks to the 3 who listened to the slow one!

Norcal 40A, 3W, 44ft doublet @25ft. One contact only during the last hour on 40. Thanks Bob! Made my night! :)

I got on a little late but after checking 40 I was a little fearful the band was not up to the test. But 80 was hopping and if my signal was as good as my ears it would have been a sweep. LOL Thanks for all the fun. KM6NN, John

Not a great night here in NH. Got on the air about 9:15PM and searched from 20 to 40 meters.Only heard N5GW calling FP and got him in the log. Oh well...that 1 QSO sure felt good to put into my log.
Off to bed...
